Peru is the cradle of the Inca civilization. It is divided into three zones: the Pacific coast, the Andes and the Amazon basin where cocoa originates. As a result, its great climatic diversity makes it one of the few countries with mega-biodiversity.
Peru is becoming increasingly important in the cocoa world and is now the eighth largest cocoa producer.
