Odile Zara

Ambohimena - Madagascar

Odile is impressively determined. She is an exemplary farmer helped by her mother and her son Christophe. She grows her cocoa following the organic farming principles. Twice a week, she takes her harvest by zebu to Ankatafa, a small village on the banks of the majestic river Sambirano. She ferments her cocoa there for six days in wooden crates, then brings it home to dry in the sun.

Our development project

Thanks to the budget allocated to the project, we will secure the cocoa store in which Odile keeps her cocoa to reduce its theft that she is regularly a victim of. We also pay for her healthcare insurance.

Odile’s cocoa

Slightly acidic to start, it then reveals notes of red fruits and spices while having a quite pronounced cocoa taste. This is the signature of an exceptional terroir and cocoa as renowned as it is rare.
